Street Fighter II HD Remix Extreme Combos

I've heard that if you use the word 'extreme' in a topic title it will get more attention. After watching this combo video on VSFighting.com (a new video site dedicated to fighting game movies), the only thing I could think of was extreme so I went ahead and decided to run with it.

The video is a short combo display of what's possible in the Remix mode of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. From the new tricks (including some nasty hurricane kick abuse by Ken a la Akuma style), it's becoming quite clear that my own expectations of what HD Remix would be delivering are incredibly short sighted compared to what the final product may potentially be. It also is clear that I haven't spent enough time with the Beta messing around with the new Remix mode (I think I'm going to get right on that this weekend)...

The video also showcases some more Ken juggling dragon punch fun, but from what Sirlin has stated over at SRK, this has already been removed from the latest version of the game (but can't be updated on the XBLA beta due to the way that downloads have to be set and approved so long in advance).

It'll be interesting to see what happens when the full cast of characters is really exploited in the final release of Street Fighter II HD Remix. With as many changes the roster is going through (with everything from damage tweaks to input tweaks), balancing the game and being able to identify easily abuseable techniques may end up becoming a balancing act for the designer's in and of itself... If all else fails, the game will feature the original Super Turbo, so perhaps that's going to be the fail safe for Capcom.
